Neck & Shoulder Reset

Neck and Shoulder Reset This is an evolving protocol developed by LMT, Zachary Leachman, to help improve shoulder mechanics. Useful for athletes and desk workers, stressed out moms, and people dealing with chronic anxiety. When the head comes forward and the shoulders collapse inward, the ribcage can’t expand fully at the top of a breath. Our breath is one of our greatest bodily assets, and shallow breathing nudges us closer to the sympathetic side of our nervous system, our fight or flight. This protocol is designed to pull the clients shoulders into a more neutral position, to help restore a sense of safety and expansiveness across the chest and shoulders. Freeing up the tissue in the neck also helps improve circulation in and out of the head, which can help with headaches & migraines. When we increase circulation in this area, we also increase circulation for the cranial nerves, namely the vagus nerve, which is directly linked to our ability to feel safe and restful in our body.
